Stories and events with Hassel
A Day With Hassel
Like most other sync pairs, a little introductory story becomes available after scouting Hassel & Baxcalibur as a sync pair. The player meets Hassel and they discuss about Baxcalibur helping with Hassel's teaching. Hassel tells the player how Baxcalibur has been his partner for a long time (while moving to tears), and encouraged them to come to his class the next time they feel lost and unsure where to go next.
Academy Event: Art Agony, Teacher’s Tears
The event that released alongside Hassel and Brassius's additions into the whole game. It focuses on Kris's struggles to finish a drawning in Hassel's art class, and Hassel asks Brassius to help with the lesson. Brassius helps Kris to overcome her art slump.
Voice lines/quotes
Talking with Hassel in the Pokémon Center lobby
- "Player! I look forward to seeing you do your best today—as always!"
- "You and your Pokémon are still growing. I look forward to seeing where your path takes you!"
- "A teacher is supposed to be a role model for students. However... when I watch my students grow, I learn things too. That’s why I can never quit teaching!"
- "It’s a bit embarrassing, but when something moves me deeply, sometimes I sob uncontrollably. In particular, when a student of mine shows\ntremendous growth and surpasses me, I—I just... BWUUUH huh huh! I’b so habby just thinking aboub it!"
- "Beauty isn’t the kind of thing you should force into a box and score. That goes for paintings, sculptures...and for some people, even their bonds with Pokémon! Seek what YOU think is beautiful—together with your partner Pokémon."
- "Strong Trainers from all over are gathered here on Pasio. Thrilling, isn’t it? It’s like a trial by dragon’s fire! If you make it through, your future’s wide open! You would be wise to keep training hard. It will save you from experiencing bitter regret."
- "Player, if you encounter a sync pair on Pasio you think is beautiful... ask yourself why you feel that way. Observe them closely, and think! Asking questions and digging deeper is important—for art and for academics!"
- "Here’s a gift for you, the young up-and-comer! Young sprouts truly do grow with astounding speed, yes... I look forward to seeing the flowers you’ll bloom!"
- "It could be said that one doesn’t need art to survive... But it certainly makes surviving much more enjoyable! If the things I teach you can bring even a little more color to your life, I’ll be happy."
- "Don’t think it’s a waste of time to learn things that aren’t strictly necessary. Learning is the trick to a long, fulfilling life!"
- "There’s a saying: “Knowing a skill will help in your time of need. It doesn’t matter if it’s something you’re good at or just something you’re interested in. Develop those skills! The day will come when they come in handy!"
- "Life is interesting because you can’t predict what’s going to happen! The day your hidden talent blooms may not be far off!"
- "Go ahead—take in and feel the beauty of this crisp, morning air!"
- "Your passion for studying is impressive. But youth is the only time when you can play without a care in the world!"
- "Well done today! I think someone who works this hard deserves a little treasure from the dragon’s hoard."

Other
- Hassel gets his first own theme battle music in Pokémon Masters! Every Elite Four member gets a slightly remixed, unique version of their respective E4 music from the original Pokémon games. For example, Rika's theme includes a classy violin and Larry's theme has electric guitar in the style of the west province of Paldea where his gym recides. And Hassel's theme sounds like an epic symphonic orchestra!
